MEMA announced that Jon Gentile has joined the organization as the new vice president of legislative affairs. With a wealth of experience in advocacy and government relations, Jon will play a pivotal role in positioning MEMA to implement a robust legislative agenda in 2025, the organization said.

Jon brings over a decade of experience in government relations, having most recently served as the chief advocacy officer for the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents. In his new role, Jon will work closely with Ana Meuwissen, MEMA’s senior vice president of government affairs, to drive the association’s policy initiatives and strengthen its influence in Washington, D.C. Together, they will ensure that MEMA’s advocacy efforts effectively represent the interests of the motor vehicle supplier industry, the organization said.

“MEMA is at a critical juncture as we prepare to engage with a new Administration and the 119th Congress in 2025,” said Meuwissen. “Jon’s extensive experience and proven track record in government affairs make him the ideal leader to help us navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. Jon will play an instrumental role in ensuring that suppliers’ priorities are understood and addressed.”

Gentile holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, graduating cum laude. He also has a Public Policy Certificate from the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics.

MEMA said Gentile’s commitment to advocacy extends beyond his professional endeavors. He is currently the President of the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics and has served on various boards and committees dedicated to governance and education.
