Two students from North Kansas City Schools broke down and reassembled a Chevy 350 engine in 1 hour and 44 minutes; AAPEX to make student competition an annual event.

AAPEX has extended the deadline for its all-new Student Engine Assembly Competition to September 15, 2025. The competition is a timed event where teams of vocational students will race to disassemble and reassemble a Chevy 350 engine.

To me, the motor vehicle aftermarket is much more than just replacement parts. I’ve always had a love of vehicles from growing up at car shows with my family, but that is not why I chose the aftermarket. I chose to get an education in this industry and commit my career to it because of the people and sense of community the aftermarket provides.

AAPEX is dedicated to bringing the best talent to the automotive aftermarket industry, and as part of this initiative, is offering two options for students to attend this year’s event.
