Jimmy Purdy is a respected automotive service professional and community leader. The President of Shift’n Gears auto repair, in Paso Robles California, A full service, independently owned auto repair facility. 

With more the 15 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, transmission rebuilding, and shop management, Jimmy combines deep technical skill with a passion for customer education and industry professionalism. Prior to operating the company, he worked as a ASE certified master technician, honing an expertise in complex systems, including transmissions, electrical diagnostics, emissions repairs. 

Under Jimmy’s leadership, along side his wife, Leigh-Ann, Shift’n Gears has become known for honest communication, high quality workmanship, and strong community ties. Beyond the garage, he hosts The Gear Box podcast, in where he interviews a wide variety of guests, from one man operations, to some of the top 1% in the industry. He also hosts a local radio show, Gear head radio, locally. 

Jimmy also serves as the president of the 805 community car care center, a Collaborative group of local shop owners focused on community support and giving back- from helping fellow small business recover after challenges to engaging in local service efforts.
