MPA’s Selwyn Joffe Receives Michael Cardone Leadership Award

Selwyn Joffe, chairman, president, and CEO of Motorcar Parts of America was named the recipient of the 2024 Michael Cardone Leadership Award, presented by MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. The award was conferred during the 2024 AAPEX event in Las Vegas on November 6, where leaders gathered with MEMA to recognize outstanding achievements in advocacy, remanufacturing, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Michael Cardone Leadership Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership in remanufacturing and sustainable practices. Joffe’s visionary leadership has significantly contributed to the growth and advancement of the automotive aftermarket industry.
“Selwyn Joffe’s career is a testament to outstanding leadership and innovation,” said John Chalifoux, chief operating officer of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. “His contributions have consistently set a benchmark for excellence, not just within Motorcar Parts of America but across the entire industry. He exemplifies the dedication and forward-thinking approach that this award was created to celebrate.”
Joffe has served as chairman of the board at Motorcar Parts of America since 1999 and has been a director since 1994. Under his leadership, the company has made significant strides in sustainable practices and remanufacturing excellence, according to MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. Before his tenure at Motorcar Parts of America, Joffe held prominent leadership roles, including chairman and CEO of Protea Group, Inc., president and CEO of Netlock Technologies, and co-founder and president of Palace Entertainment, Inc. He also led the Wolfgang Puck Food Company as president and CEO.
Joffe also has actively contributed to industry associations. He was a founding director of the Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) division of MEMA and serves on the board of the California, Arizona and Nevada Automotive Wholesaler’s Association (CAWA). A graduate of Emory University with degrees in business and law, Joffe is also a certified public accountant.

The Michael Cardone Leadership Award was established in 2017 to honor three generations of the Cardone family, founders of CARDONE Industries, which grew to become the largest family-owned remanufacturer of automotive parts in the world. The award highlights remanufacturing leaders who embody the values of vision, passion, teamwork and excellence.
Also honored during the award presentation was Eric Luftig of Dorman Products, who received the MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Advocacy Champion Award, and Philip Austin of Niterra North America and Rebecca Conway of Clarios, who were awarded the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader Award.
