AAPEX Live 2022 Coverage

Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., the holding company of global tire maker Hankook Tire, will participate at Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) 2022. The company will showcase its battery products for various automotive segments, as well as next-generation prototypes at the show that will be held Nov. 1-3 at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.

Hankook & Company’s Energy Solution (ES) business will showcase its lead-acid battery technology and a lineup of its latest battery products that include Hankook-branded Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM), Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB), and Maintenance Free (MF) batteries. In addition, the Starter Lithium-ion Battery (Starter LIB) prototype will also be introduced to the public for the first time at the booth.

Hankook & Company first participated in AAPEX in 2016 with the intention of expanding the market for its battery business, which has been consistently recognized as first-in-class in the Korean market, the company says. Since then, Hankook & Company officially opened its battery sales operations in the United States in 2017 and established a production base in Clarksville, Tenn., in 2020. Based on an annual battery production capacity of more than 14 million units, the company says it plans to gradually strengthen its U.S. production to meet rising demand.

Meanwhile, Hankook & Company Energy Solution (ES) Business Headquarters, which oversees the lead-acid battery business of the holding company, says it continues to strengthen its capabilities in technology innovation and quality through investment in research and development. Hankook & Company introduced Korea’s first MF battery in 1982 and has since become the premier battery brand in Korea, offering a wide range of products for various automotive vehicle segments, the company says.

For the battery business, Hankook & Company currently provides services to over 450 customers in 100 countries around the world through four international hubs based in the U.S., Europe, UAE, and Korea. It also has four production facilities and one global R&D center.

The company will be at booth #A1055.
