SUMMARY:Who Drives Who: How Automakers Influence the Aftermarket and Vice Versa
DESCRIPTION:Business decisions by automakers have a downstream influence on the aftermarket. The vehicles they choose to build have a profound influence on aftermarket decisions for parts\, training\, skills and innovation. EVs are a good example. Older EVs are coming out of warranty and entering the aftermarket – even as the market for new model EVs is uncertain.  \nConversely\, the aftermarket also influences the automakers. The aftermarket is often the first to see design or engineering flaws\, which leads them to create better parts (i.e.\, Dorman’s loaded knuckle for the F-150 cuts labor costs by ~75%). At the same time\, many of the suppliers to the aftermarket also supply parts to automaker assembly lines. \nThis session will feature a well-rounded panel of automotive reporters who\, based on their work\, will discuss the trends they are seeing firsthand and how they influence each other.

SUMMARY:Rewiring the Aftermarket with Agentic
DESCRIPTION:Connecting customer behavior\, inventory\, pricing\, and omnichannel execution to drive growth  \n\n\nIn this session\, BCG will explore rapidly-emerging applications and implications across three areas:  \n\n\n\nOmnichannel customer experience: Customers increasingly research\, engage\, and transact across the counter\, phone\, web\, email\, and text\, while expecting a more and more connected experience. AI agents are enabling continuity across these interactions – from answering questions and scheduling appointments to sending reminders and live service updates \n\n\n\n\nInventory optimization: Leaders are leveraging customer and demand signals to help distinguish the parts whose availability determines whether a sale is won or lost from those where stock matters less – optimizing sales\, working capital\, and the ability to better service the customer. \n\n\n\n\nLong-tail pricing: Pricing agents can expand the level of research and analytical rigor applied to large portfolios of slower-moving parts – an area that historically has received far less attention than the highest-volume parts \n\n\n\nJoin the conversation on how these developments are changing the way aftermarket organizations use data\, serve customers\, and manage commercial decisions at scale.  \nThis session is approved for continuing education units (CEUs) through the University of the Aftermarket. Participants must have their badge scanned at the session to receive credit. \nEarn Continuing Education Credits at AAPEX 2026 \nAdvance your professional development while gaining valuable industry insights at AAPEX! Five sessions have been approved for continuing education units (CEUs) through Northwood University’s University of the Aftermarket. Attendees can earn up to 0.44 CEUs by participating in all five sessions. CEUs can count toward professional designations offered through the University of the Aftermarket\, including AAP and MAAP.

SUMMARY:Aftermarket Outlook 2027
DESCRIPTION:At this year’s aftermarket outlook session\, Circana’s Executive Director and Industry Analyst\, Nathan Shipley\, will cover the trends observed both in general retail and the Aftermarket over the last two years and why understanding what drove sales performance during that time is critical for predicting what the near-term future might look like for our industry. The presentation will also provide perspective on how macro trends – both industry specific and more general in nature – might play into future results.  You won’t want to miss this!
