By the end of the class\, technicians will have a stronger understanding of Tesla’s network structure and the skills needed to analyze\, test\, and troubleshoot vehicle communication systems in a shop environment.

DESCRIPTION:This course helps technicians maximize the diagnostic information they can glean from the simple act of plugging into the vehicles DLC connection!  A logical and systematic path to driveability diagnostics is emphasized. Navigating and drilling down the PCM data stream will aid techs in both code and no code driveability issues.  Learn how to use the information in the PCM data stream to save valuable time and avoid wasting time on intrusive testing.   \nOur scan tools have gotten so much more powerful in their graphing ability and scanner movie/snapshot buffer size.  The diagnostic test drive will be discussed how to determine the engine’s ability to be fueled and its ability to breathe quickly and efficiently.  Graphing scan data\, creating and archiving snapshots/ movies will be discussed for documentation of driveability failures. Enable criteria\, circuit vs. component performance\, freeze frame\, fail records and repair verification will be explored. \nSeveral case studies using many different scan tools both OE and aftermarket\, will illustrate how to gain solid diagnostic direction quickly and efficiently for low power\, hesitation\, misfire\, fuel delivery\, vacuum leaks\, and component circuit failures and much more.
