 Press Releases

  • Optronics, International, a leading manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty LED vehicle lighting, expanded its Opti-Brite LED work lamp line today, with the introduction of five new Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps. Unlike conventional LED work lights, each of the new lamps features a slim profile and a noticeably convex lens that produces a 40 percent wider area of illumination.

Work lamps are used in, on and around a wide assortment of vehicles and within a vast array of challenging environments. The new Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps provide users with an enhanced light beam that augments lateral visibility by almost half. The lamps also carry an IP69K rating, the highest designation available for water, steam and particulate ingress testing, meaning increased reliability and service life when subjected to severe environmental conditions or cleaning methods.

"Using two of our new Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps enables users to shine light on an area almost the equivalent of three standard LED work lamps," Brett Johnson, president and CEO of Optronics International, said. "All five lamps carry a lifetime warranty and all have an IP69K rating, making them suitable for the hot, wet and dusty environments often encountered in heavy-duty, work truck, off-road, fire & rescue, snow & ice management and refuse applications."

The selection of five models offers a wide range of effective lumen outputs capable of meeting the needs of a broad variety of situations. All five wide-angle LED work lights feature ultra-smooth polycarbonate lens surfaces that resist dust adhesion, and each lamp is constructed with a durable, die-cast aluminum housing and comes with a tough, stainless steel mounting bracket. The lamps are designed to accommodate both 12- and 24-volt electrical systems.

Like all other work lamps in the Opti-Brite product line, the new wide-angle LED work lights are covered by the company's no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty, which replaces the entire lamp if even one diode fails. Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps also feature reverse polarity protection and are EMC R10 approved.

"The Opti-Brite LED work lamp brand stands for quality and durability," Marcus Hester, vice president of sales and marketing for Optronics International, said. "With their 40 percent broader beam pattern, our new Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps are a great addition to an already extensive line of LED work lamps."

Opti-Brite Wide-Angle LED Work Lamps part numbers include: TLL55FB, TLL70FB, TLL71FB, TLL72FB and TLL73FB. The new lamps are available for shipment now.
  • Optronics' new white and amber LED Directional Warning Lights feature 12 flash patterns, are IP67 rated, incorporate SMD technology and will set a new industry standard for durability.

TULSA, Okla., USA (Aug. 23, 2016) – Optronics International, a leading manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty LED vehicle lighting, introduced its first line of LED Directional Warning Lights today. The family of nine white and amber directional warning lamps was designed with flexibility, performance and durability in mind.

The new lamps meet SAE J845 Class II standards and are designed for use on work trucks, maintenance and service vehicles, and to warn of traffic hazards such as a lane blockage or slow-moving vehicles. Lamp failure is commonplace in the directional warning light category, where operational environments are often severe and excessive heat, dirt, dust, moisture and vibration are the norm.

"The field performance characteristics for existing directional warning lamps are less than stellar," Brett Johnson, president and CEO of Optronics International, said. "We've engineered lamps with superior quality, that will live up to the challenges they will encounter. Each of our nine new LED Directional Warning Lights carries a lifetime warranty and each has an IP67 rating, designating their suitability for the hot, wet and dusty environments they’re likely to encounter."

The lamps all feature tough polycarbonate lenses that are sonically welded and watertight. Their IP67 rating designates the lamps as highly resistant to water and particulate ingress. The lamps employ a solid-state, surface-mount device (SMD) design that guards electronic components against moisture, shock and vibration.

In practical terms, the new lamps are built tougher than competing products and are capable of lasting the life of the vehicles they serve. Like all LED products from Optronics, all nine of the new LED Directional Warning Lights come with no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty protection that will replace the lamp if even one diode fails.

"With our one-diode lifetime warranty program, we put our money where our mouth is," Marcus Hester, vice president of sales and marketing for Optronics International, said. "Fleets contemplating new vehicle purchases and maintenance directors charged with lamp replacement tasks should consider our low cost of entry and even lower cost of maintenance when choosing vehicle lighting."

The lamps each feature 12 sync-capable flash patterns. Flash patterns include: random, steady, single, mega, double, triple, quad, quint, 8-flash, single-quad, single high/low and single-triple-quint.

The nine models include surface-mounting and recessed mounting solutions, as well as a light bar design with an aluminum housing. Optronics LED Directional Warning Light part numbers include: SLL22, SLL51, SLL80 and SLL81 in white and amber, and the SLL60 offered in amber only. The new lamps are expected to be available on or about Sept. 1, 2016.

  • Optronics’ Opti-Brite LED Headlamps combine stunning optical engineering and style  with rugged performance characteristics, creating distinctive-looking high-performance LED headlamps with a full lifetime warranty.

TULSA, Okla., USA (October 25, 2016) — Optronics International, a leading manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty LED vehicle lighting, announced that it will display its most advanced Opti-Brite LED Headlamps for the first time in booth 3328 at the 2016 AAPEX Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Optronics’ new LED headlamps feature advanced retroflective LED technology engineered to emit a wider, brighter beam for increased visibility and safety, and an eye-catching LED conspicuity array that enhances the lamp’s style and appearance.

The new Opti-Brite LED Headlamps have a signature look and feel that sets them apart from other LED headlamps. Beginning with unique centralized lens elements that house attentiongetting LED conspicuity arrays and rear-facing LEDs, the lamps simply look different than anything else on the road. The rear-oriented LEDs interact with precision-engineered metallic parabolic reflectors to create a beam pattern that is ultra bright, with broad, smooth, photometric characteristics that approximate the color temperature of natural sunlight, improving visibility and reducing eye fatigue.

“No other headlamps have this stunning conspicuity feature on one side and our ‘retroflective’ optics on the other, orienting the LEDs producing the headlamp beam backward, and letting our advanced reflector geometry do the work of projecting the beam forward,” Brett Johnson, president and CEO of Optronics International, said. “These are attractive and robust lamps that are aggressively priced, and along with other Opti-Brite headlamp models, are the only LED headlamps in the industry to carry Optronics’ no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty protection, which will replace the lamp if even one diode fails.”

Optronics’ new LED headlamps come in three formats that cover a wide range of vehicle makes and models. The HLL93HLB series fits a seven-inch round format and has both high and low beam functions built in. The HLL79HB high-beam lamps and HLL78LB low-beam lamps fit four- by six-inch rectangular formats and are compatible with four-lamp systems with separate, dedicated high-beam and low-beam lamps.

The new Opti-Brite LED Headlamps are designed to allow users to easily upgrade their headlamps from standard halogen and HID sealed-beam to a higher-performing, higher-style and longer-lasting LED light source. The lamps use standard H4 three-blade connectors, and it takes just minutes to convert any vehicle with compatible headlamps to the new LED technology.

“Our new Opti-Brite LED Headlamps are plug and play,” Marcus Hester, vice president of sales and marketing for Optronics International, said. “And with an expected service life many times that of halogen and HID headlamps, I can’t see what would stop someone from converting.”

All lamps are engineered to accommodate both 12- and 24-volt electrical systems. The new lamps have an expected service life of 30,000 hours, 15 to 30 times that of halogen and HID headlamps.

The lamps feature durable, powder-coated, die-cast aluminum housings and tough polycarbonate lenses that have an application of a special coating that protects them against exposure to UV rays and harsh environments. The coating also defends the lamps against the cracking, fading and yellowing associated with some LED headlamps.    “In addition to these more traditional headlamp formats, we’re in discussions with several OEMs now regarding custom and modular LED headlamp designs,” Johnson said. “The reduced maintenance and downtime associated with LED headlamps will ultimately make them a reality on virtually every commercial vehicle in the future.”

The new Opti-Brite LED Headlamps are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2017. The lamps meet or exceed all FMVSS 108 and CMVSS 108 photometric requirements for visibility and safety. The lamps employ a solid-state, surface-mount device (SMD) design that protects their electronics against moisture, shock and vibration. Like all LED products from Optronics, Opti-Brite LED Headlamps come with no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty protection that will replace the lamp if even one diode fails.
